Talking Back in the saddle again!

I finally got another truck!! It looks pretty solid so far, but I haven't tore into it yet. I did do a quick look through today when I got it home. I got it in a barter so I'm not out very much at all. My plans for it so far, make it mechanically sound, fix some rust, paint it, interior cosmetics, and drive it! It is a CST someone put a vortec 350 in it. Other that that, I don't know much else about it.

Here's some pictures!

Re: Back in the saddle again!

Cool truck, looks like a good project.

Nice to have the non leaky newer style engines with center bolt valve covers and a one piece rear main. But, I don't think that's a Vortec, the intake bolts don't look like it.

Thanks bud!

The guy I got it from said it was, but he didn't know much about the truck so I took it for what he said. I'm planning on pulling the numbers and seeing what it actually is.

I'm jus excited to have another one of these trucks.

Yes. TPI and TBI engines pre vortec. Vortec heads have vertical intake bolts and are casting number 062 or 906. Started in 87.

Looks like a nice project!

Re: Back in the saddle again!

Well I got the parts truck home today. Looks like I'll have a cab swap in my future.

I'll get some pictures of it tomorrow/today.

Re: Back in the saddle again!

Been a little too long since my last post.

I've got a few things done to her since my last update.

I put on some west coast jr. mirrors. I had to refurbish them so they look pretty good.

I got a canopy for her.

Last and most recent, I got a 454 lined up to go it her. Now I need to figure out what I need to get that engine ready and installed.

I wish I could be working on this truck during the winter, but my 08 Silverado, had one of the lifters take a crap so I'm in the middle of rebuilding that engine.

I'll try to get some pictures up later.

Re: Back in the saddle again!

If it's not too crappy out here this weekend I'll get a couple more pictures of the old girl and the new, to me, engine.

Haha yeah they are kinda big. I don't know why or how I did that.

This old gal was my daily driver for about a month while I was rebuilding the engine on my 08. She did pretty good.

I should come by and see ya some time. I hope you got through all those parts.
