Front tire "screech" noise when turning around in 4wd???
Messing around yesterday and thought I better try out the 4wd on my new 71. Went down a real sloppy road no problem then came to the end where it was asphalt. I made a sharp u-turn and the front tire made a "screech...screech....screech" noise. Is this just because the hubs are locked in or something?

Yes, that is very common. It comes from the tendancy of the truck to "push" thus sliding the tire on the pavement. It would do the same on dirt/gravel you just don't hear it. The straight axle front end may do this even when not locked-in but the power applied makes the situation worse.

It is driveline bind. You should not use 4WD on pavement like that, particularily making sharp turns.
