Spring differences

First post here! Been getting tons of education. I'm in the process of making my '64 into a reliable driver.
I'm swapping '79 burb control arms into my '64 and noticed the '64 spring is a little shorter than the '79. Are they interchangeable? I have 2-1/2 drop spindles on order, was thinking of using the '64 springs to get a little more on the cheap.

I don't know why you couldn'y use the '64 spring with the '73-'87 control arms. Just make sure the tail of the spring is in the correct spot in the lower control arm.

I put them side by side and the ‘64 has one less coil. They don’t appear to be cut because it flattens out on both sides. Diameters are the same. I’m going with it and we’ll see how it turns out!

According Early Classic Enterprises, the springs interchange. The the deal is the later model ones are designed to support the extra weight of the vehicle. I used my '66 springs when i put the squarebody front end on my avatar truck and strangely the front ended up 1.5 inches lower than it was with the exact same springs in the original suspension. A 3" drop in the rear brought things to a very slight rake.
