What's this part worth
I can get a bare 350 with four bolt mains, it's never been bored. I can pick it up for 150.00. Is this a fair price?
thanks red72

Red, That sounds fair to me. I'd spend a few bucks having the block fluxed before plunking down the cash. Good Luck !

What's so special about the 350 casting # 3970010? How is it different from the others?
I just picked one up last week w/ 333882 heads, new alt, starter, new quadrajet, flexplate, & headers from a 77K10 for $400.

IMO, 150 bucks for a bare block seems high. If it has already been mag'd from a machine shop and given a clean bill of health, then sure, but I can get compete engines all day long for less than that, and if carefull, they'd be running engines too. (running, but still ready for rebuild)

if memory serves me right the 3970010 has a higher nickel content. they hold a ring seal better & more resistant to overheating. one thing to look for though is if the cam brg journals are in the center of casting bulge & not offset. sign of core shift.
