Re: MSD 6AL-2 PROGRAMMABLE Ignition Control in a Squarebody, say what?
so got the HEI vacuum advance eliminator kit Part No. 88364
the kit comes with two random screws that some disgruntled employee threw in not even looking, the larger longer screw did not even thread into any of the holes in the distributor cause it was too big, luckily I re used three of the original screws from before |

Re: MSD 6AL-2 PROGRAMMABLE Ignition Control in a Squarebody, say what?
so lessons learned so far: you need to lock out both the mechanical advance and the vacuum advance, or if you are made of money just but the MSD billet aluminum distributor without the vacuum advance, that one allows you to twist its head into the locked-out position, and Bob's your uncle

Re: MSD 6AL-2 PROGRAMMABLE Ignition Control in a Squarebody, say what?
alright one more step and we are done manhandling the distributor I promise, although the instructions don't mention this, it's the topic of Rotor Phasing, say what?
Follow along as MSD's Joe Pando explains rotor phasing. MSD Tech: Rotor Phasing there is also this Hot Rod Hotline article: Ignition Systems - Rotor Phasing Article by MSD Ignition Last edited by Gregski; 01-17-2019 at 02:26 AM. |
