WTB - Electric Choke
Hey all!
Got a new Q-Jet, but it doesn't have a choke in it, I want to install an electric setup... Anyone have one they are willing to sell to me?

Does yours have the hot air choke if so you can just put the electric reostat in there and put silocone or epoxy in the vaccum hole on the housing.
If the other guy doenst find one let me know Im pretty certain i have one. |

Yep, it has the fittings for a hot air setup right now, so I just need the little plastic part that screws to the carb.

Those thing seem to take a dive every could years. I would just buy a new one. I hae converted two Hot airs to electric. Both have worked great. Need to plug the port in the one leg of the choke bowl if it's there and then just put a couple vac plugs on the exterior ports.
Another thing I would recomend is a oil pressure switch. On a truck that came with electric choke the power is run the a oil switch that only allows power when the engine is running. That does a few things for you. If you accidently get it in the run postiotin but don't start it will prevent the choke form cycling and then the resulting hard start of no choke won't happen. This will also help keep you from running down your battery as fast. Same deal with shutting down. If you ge somwhere and standing and want ot listen to the radio and leave it in run with the engine off the no power and alow the choke to start cooling and make it start easier. I have the part number at home for the switch and maybe the choke element. It's the Autozone off brand. Wells I think.

Looks like I'm gonna be getting one from someone on here... Like usual, the Canadian price is simply rediculous... Midas well buy whole Q-jet with an electric choke than buy a new choke unit, lol
