Cluster question 6k tach?
My buddy has this cluster that seems odd. It has a 6K tach. He says he has not seen one like this. Can anyone chime in? Is this an odd one?

Re: Cluster question 6k tach?
I think those dashes came in the big trucks...is that not a air pressure gauge on the left?....

Re: Cluster question 6k tach?
Never seen anything like it either. Both the two on the Left and Right. Possibly aftermarket replacements??

Re: Cluster question 6k tach?
I believe the one in the left is a fuel economy monitor. Big truck makes sense. But still very curious. Love to know for sure.

Re: Cluster question 6k tach?
That tach sure looks like the 80s GM gauge font. Is the one on the left a vacuum gauge? Almost looks like I see "fuel economy" across the bottom.

Re: Cluster question 6k tach?
I think I got it figured out. I believe someone just used odd ball gauges and attached them to the factory rear plates shown in the picture. Notice that the Tach is larger than it should be and goes outside of the circle.

Re: Cluster question 6k tach?
He told me the guy he got it from had it in his shop for around 25 years, so the 80s theory could be valid. He says the date code on the back is january 1964
This site is great for finding info, thanks for all the info. If anyone else has any input, i would like to hear it. |

Re: Cluster question 6k tach?
Is the spot where the tach is, a factory tach location for those years?

Tach on the Right. Air Pressure or Vacuum Gauge on the Left.

Re: Cluster question 6k tach?
The cluster has a tach and vacuum guage that are from other GM vehicles. I think the tach is out of an '80s vintage Camaro. Not a bad installation, just not original.
