Redoing my front-end and need to replace those I bolts. Does anyone know what size they are? Was hoping to find them locally. Thanks

Re: Control arm u bolts size
If C10 they were originally 7/16" or 1/2", though it's good idea to replace them with 9/16", which you'll find on a C20. 9/16" may be a pinch too large to fit through the hole, but a little filing will do it.

Re: Control arm u bolts size
The 7/16" & 1/2" u-bolts had a problem with snapping when in reverse with the wheel cranked all the way in either direction. I've had it happen myself. The 9/16" u-bolts are an excellent safety upgrade. You may need to use a 9/16" drill bit to open the stock holes a bit.

I got the 9/16 ones from NAPA. They had to order them but it only took a couple days. They i think the set of 4 cost me what 2 cost from LMC.

Got the 9/16" Dorman U-bolt kit from Summit Racing. One thing they didn't come with was washers, so I had to source those locally.

Re: Control arm u bolts size
I found super nice washers for these, they're more narrow than most you'll find, so they won't get bent up on the cross member. Only downside is they're real expensive, they're very proud of their washers They're finished like ARP bolts. Oh yeah, be sure to use prevailing torque nuts.
