Brake cylinder help

Ive got a 68 c10 with a camaro axle fitted. Im unsure of the year. Its a 8.5 lsd. I need cylinder and brake shoes as i sprung a leak. In the uk its not so easy to find parts does anyone no if the cylinders where the same fitted to many years etc? And if the same as astro or simular as some parts are easy to come by..

You’ll need to take it apart and measure the bore of the cylinders.
When you do take lots of pics of the brakes and the rearend (axle)so we can help you figure out exactly what rearend you have.

Ok. I will strip it down and upload some pics. I could not find where to find the hole to wind the brake shoes off to release the drum. Ive since found out the black oval hole on the face of the drum needs to be punched out and moved to 6 oclock position to wind breaks off. Was looking on the back plate for it..

Carefull with that!
You don’t want to be looking for drums too.
Likely better to explore the backing plate some more. Easier to punch out as it’s thinner metal.

Rears are 20's 14 inch wide front are 19's

How did you get the drums off?

Yeh i searched a bit and im sure they are the earlier ones 7/8 size. Yeh they are defo a mess in there, the brake fluid has started to dissolve the rear shoes as its all stuck inside my drums aswell. Had to wind the shoes right off after punching out the tab on the face of the drum not the backing plate they lots of spray and a big rubber mallet.

I’ve had to grind the shoe pins off on the backside of the plate to get drums off before.
Considering where you live you might be better to figure out the bore size and rebuild the cylinders right where they are. Could save trying to find matching wheel cylinders.
