Hydroboost swap help!

Hello,

I'm in the midst of an LS swap on my 71 C10. I had a 2002 2500hd parts vehicle. Along with the drivetrain swap, I'm using the hydroboost. However, the master with the hydroboost came with front and rear discs and my original master doesn't work with the hydroboost push rod. What it the easiest way to get this going? Is there a bolt on master I can use that will work with the hydroboost and the rear drums? All help is appreciated!

Re: Hydroboost swap help!

I used my original master cylinder on my hydroboost. The hydroboost pushrod I cut and threaded for a heim joint

Hey, What did your hydroboost come out of? Can you give me more details on your modifications to mount the original master to the new hydroboost?

Re: Hydroboost swap help!

If you look at my build thread below, I have pics of my hydroboost swap on my dually. My unit was from an 80's truck, so I'm not sure if its the same as yours. I'm using the master cylinder made for disc/drum, and for now mine is drum/drum and it works fine. But to answer your question, i know all '82 - '87 master cylinders were made for a disc/drums setup.

Late Astro van. No modifications, it bolted right on with the correct push rod length. If you do a search on this site there might be a thread suggesting there are only two lengths of push rod pins with all the hydroboost units.

Re: Hydroboost swap help!

I used an off the shelf new NAPA master for a 72 K20 for my setup. I’m using a hydraboost unit from an 08 Silverado 2500hd. I’ve got another unit from an 06 2500hd that is identical to the 08. I suppose they must have changed the pushrod lengths from 02 to 06.
