Disc Brake Upgrade

So I have an opportunity to buy an 84 C10 2wd frame with the disc brake setup. Will the whole front subframe from the 84 just bolt up to my 68 frame for a disc brake upgrade?

Re: Disc Brake Upgrade

There are many threads on this site about this conversion. But, yes, it's basically a bolt on. There will be a few holes to drill and a few that need to be elongated to bolt it up but it's an easy conversion.

Re: Disc Brake Upgrade

You can actually bolt the A-arm assemblies onto your existing frame in place of the stock drum brake parts without needing to drill any new holes.

You will need to use the center link, idler arm, tie rod assemblies and at least the pitman arm if not the whole power steering gearbox with pitman arm attached if you have manual steering as the newer steering knuckles use a different size tie rod taper.
