Anyone Make Their Own Door Panels?
If So What Material Did You Use As Backing And How Did You Fasten Them To The Doors?

Re: Anyone Make Their Own Door Panels?
I did in my Jimmy. I used 1/4" plywood, covered it with black vinyl. I used stainless sheetmetal screws and stainless trim washers and just screwed the 4 corners. I mounted 4" speakers in them and used 69-71 padded armrests.

Re: Anyone Make Their Own Door Panels?
I used thick sheet metal and bead rolled a few "stripes" near the bottom and covered in vinyl (I used 3m spray glue and they came off so I need to get better glue). I am using those chrome trim screws (with the washer thing around the head) to install.

I had bad luck with that 3M stuff too. I now use marine grade contact cement. It will hold up to the heat inside the passenger compartment.

Re: Anyone Make Their Own Door Panels?
I went to my local shop and bought the board they use and cut the pattern out and then had them cover it for me. I did the dash pad and covered the 67 Chevelle wheel with same color leather.
There not perfect by no means but they cover up the 6x9 holes in the bottom of the doors and they are fastened like late model panels with the plastic tree's.

Re: Anyone Make Their Own Door Panels?
A brand new set of steel door panels are only $55.00 from rock auto
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...oor+panel,1296 I've made several sets for members using their door panels or fabricating them from waterproof door board . If you have your original panels they can be wrapped with any color vinyl and reinstalled .

Re: Anyone Make Their Own Door Panels?
I don't think I even glued them. I stretched it around the back and through the speaker holes, door handle and regulator holes and stapled it on the back with 3/16 T50 staples.
