The above method works, went out and fixed the 68 in less than three minutes using this method.

What part of the horn assembly goes into the turn signal switch? I’m missing whatever is in the turn signal switch to connect to the horn

It's the Black wire. It connects via the copper tip spring on the cancelling cam [white disc w/arm under the wheel].
