Not sure? I parted a 70 big block several years ago and this has been sitting on a shelf in my garage.

Using a multimeter/continuity tester its easy to test

Well, I took it to work today and had a maintenance guy put a ohm meter on it and said that it was not showing resistance, which I guess means it’s no good. I guess I have a nice wiring harness and bracket now!

I dont want this to come off sounding like a smart butt here...did he make sure to push the spring loaded lever in to verify no continuity? I find it very odd that it’d be faulty-they’re incredibly simple switches.

I know nothing about meters or how they work. I watched the guy test it and asked questions along the way so I’d know next time. He said he set his meter to Ohms. Hooked the leads up and nothing. I held the switch and engaged the button several times but never got the meter to read. Did we do something wrong?

Imho,
The contacts inside the switch can be corroded to the point of not making or the plunger isn't fully engaging the contacts. Unless I'm missing something the switch should be fixable. Hope this helps you.
