I grew up around a car that had the sliding speedo instead of the rotating one and I've been wanting to get a vehicle with a sliding speedo for quite a while for that nostalgia feeling. However, a 1962 c10 fell into my lap and they have the rotating speedo.
I know the dashes are different, and looks like the 64-66 dash cluster might be a bit bigger (buttons are on the dash cluster), but has anyone put the later style speedo in place of the rotating speedo and had it look stock-ish at least? I will be gutting all of the wires while rebuilding the truck, so I really only care about getting the speedo to work in the beginning. PS: the car I grew up around ![]() |

@Rocknrod
It's not that I don't like them, but I would prefer the 64-66 style ones. @62bagger That's one of those digital dashes, right? I know Dakota Digital does a 64-66 retrofit that fits in a 62 dash, but those cost more than I paid for the whole truck. |

The one 62bagger posted is the deluxe dash with gauges for the truck you have and is one of the best looking ones for these years trucks.
