65 K20 Instrument Cluster removal
How do you remove the instrument cluster on a 65 K20? I have disconnected the speedometer cable and removed the 5 screws. The only other thing the manual says is to disconnect the oil pressure line, which I did not do because I have slack in it. It will not budge!
Do any of the switches have to be removed first? Are there secret clips I need to un-hook? Is there a special password I have to say?

Re: 65 K20 Instrument Cluster removal
You have to pull all the switches and the choke cable. Most of the time there is a union in the oil pressure line just outside of the fire wall. Next I also disconnect the wiring harness. The bottom of the cluster can get hung up on the dash and some time you need to bend the tabs that stick up down just a bit to get them to clear. They get hung on the back of the bezzel and the harder you pull the tighter it will get.
