NV3500 Thoughts

Have a 1969 GMC C2500 350(stock) with sm465 and 3.54 in the rear. Have a line on a 1995 2wd NV3500 thinking of doing the swap. My plans with the truck is cruising with the occasional load of split wood no intentions of towing anything just a reliable driver. I have read good and bad reviews on this. Just want to get some more info, a NV4500 would be nice in case I ever needed to tow but its about 3x more $$ for just the tranny on average in my area plus like said it will just occasionally see a load of split wood.

Any tips, thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

I've looked at doing that swap. Probably got the same info you have. I think they worked out pretty well in the 1/2t trucks they came in.

Re: NV3500 Thoughts

Does the 3500 have a speedometer cable output? And if not, is there an easy or cheap way to add one?

Re: NV3500 Thoughts

You have to get a electric to cable converter for the speedo.
