Has anyone taken off the very rear crossmember from the bed?
I attached a picture of what I am talking about. I want to repair some rust at the back of the floor where the last crossmember is. It looks like the crossmember is welded to the floor. Has anyone taken the last crossmember off from the floor or have any tips on how to get it off, or can it be done at all? Thanks....John

yeah they are welded, any of the ones ive taken apart are anyways, i just used a cut off wheel on a grinder, be careful not to grind too much though, it doesnt take much to put a big groove in there

tell you what, bring the whole thing up to me just the way it is. with trailer & fenders & I will find a use for them so you have no worries at all.
realistically though, get a spot weld cutter from body shop supply store & remove floor panels from x-member. do light rosette welds to reinstall when done. then carefully smooth welds off & no one will know the difference. take your time & pretend you are a plastic surgeon building a beauty pageant contestant. The wood beds come apart easier. I only had 2 3" welds on each side between bedside and rear cross member. Like was said take your time cut shallow!
