fuel tank relocation
So i am trying to figure out the best way to do this. i have a 76 c10 fleetside that i am going to buy the k5 blazer tank and relocate it to the rear. I'm hoping for help with two things. one does anyone have pics of theirs installed? i'm trying to figure out the best way to mount it. secondly i am going to be installing a rear 4 link and airbags. would it be best to wait until those are installed before installing the tank??

Re: fuel tank relocation
Definitely install your 4 link first. The tank is pretty large so you want to make sure you have enough space and ground clearance. I have a blazer tank swapped in mine but I did a new backhalf so the pics wont be too much help.

Re: fuel tank relocation
I am wanting to do the same type of relocation-either blazer or suburban tank. Did you ever get yours done?

Re: fuel tank relocation
Pretty old post but here is how I did mine. Basically sits in stock location as a blazer or suburban. I removed the rear brace and moved it to the end of the frame. Mine is bagged , I mounted tank inside the frame instead of under the frame just to help ground clearance. Full laid out the tank is about 2.5 inches off the ground. At ride height it is about 5-6 inches off the ground. not the greatest picture but only one I have on my laptop.

Re: fuel tank relocation
Another option if you do not need the capacity is use a Mustang tank. They are smaller, and will give you some extra ground clearance if you need it.
The hardest part is converting the ohm sender to gm values. |
