Can anyone show me what a proper appraisial should look like for insurance purposes.

Thanks for your replies.

Not sure if this will help or not. I assume that you are talking about a vehicle.

Try this link.

Thanks, but not what I'm looking for.

I guess maybe a photocopy of a proper appraisial showing the format and descriptions.

I was in the same situation. I spent $100 and had my truck appraised. He gave me 2 booklets, one to send in to the insurance co. and one to keep. Usually they expect a detailed assesment of the truck along with 8-10 quality pictures of the vehicle, and a value(which will usually be the maximum that they will allow you to insure it for). If I still had a functioning scanner I would scan it for you.

It seems like appraisers are always more than fair. The fact that the value of old vehicles is climbing all the time helps. Mine was appraised at $10,000 and at that point I had bought it for $6000 and spent $500 on tires and $100 on other minor repairs. The interior was unfinished at the time. That was 2 years ago and now I probably have $10,000 invested in the truck (4.11's and posi, interior work, stereo, rims). I am going to wait to get new doors and a paint job before I get it re-appraised.

In Cullman the only place I know of that does this is Burgess body shop. May give them a call and "Jerry" might can give you some ideal over the phone as to what he checks or looks for. Not sure what the charge is. 256-734-5130

JOCK ... I'VE HAD 4 OF MY DRIVERS & EVEN MY TOWTRUCK APPRAISED. I HAVE FULL COVERAGE ON ALL OF THEM WITH A $500 DEDUCTABLE & AN AGREED UPON VALUE.. THERES A CAR LOT NEAR ME THAT SPECIALIZES IN OLDER MUSCLE CARS & CLASSICS & THATS WHERE I HAVE MINE APPRAISED. CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE AGENT & I'M SURE HE CAN POINT YOU TOWORD A REPUTABLE APPRAISER. EVERY TRUCK I'VE HAD APPRAISED, CAME IN AT OVER $10,000. IT WOULD COST ME $10 TO HAVE IT APPRAISED, BUT THIS CAR DEALER IS A FRIEND OF MY INSURANCE GUY , SO HE DOES IT FOR FREE. THE INSURANCE AGENT TAKES A COUPLE OF POLAROID SNAPSHOTS OF MY TRUCK, & PUTS THEM IN MY FOLDER. CHECK AROUND BEFORE YOU FORK OUT $100 FOR 10 MINUTES OF SOMEBODYS TIME. JOHN
