85 ScottsDale 20 Rear Brake Prop Valve ??
Does Anyone Else have This? Or is it an option on a heavy duty jb6 brake system I think thats the number my brake system is the best one WIth the cast Iron master Cylinder And One Ton Rear Shoes

O yeah i think this valve give it more or less rear brake the more its loaded

Correct. They commonly go bad too so if you have brake problems, bypass it. They never worked that well anyways.

My 88 3/4 ton burb has one. Seem to function on my 88. You correct, it put a little more brake to the rear as load causes the rear to drop.
When I have my Cargo trailer and a load in the burb I do notice a change in the brakes. I had a brake pull from a stuck adjuster in the rear that became VERY apparent with load but hardly noticed it empty.

Yeah my rear shoes are super thick and i just put new carbon metalic and rotors on the front it stops good the pedal just goes down more than i think it should
Did you bypass yours? It has a prop valve up front too Im just wondering why it has this and what if the other prop valve puts 100% to the back and this second one is supposed to do the rest. |
