Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi
Valve covers are finished. I’m going to take it out for a drive tomorrow and if I don’t have any leaks... burnout will follow soon.

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi
I got the valve covers on last week, but I just didn’t like the idea of having to fill the oil through one of the small original holes. So, I snatched the passenger side valve cover back off and installed a cool little aluminum fill tube/cap. Marked my location, Bored a hole and drilled and tapped the 3 holes to hold the piece in place. I like it much better now.
Before pic for reference and one now... |

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi
The valve covers look better to me than the junky black stamped steel ones, but still blend in well.

I think I’m done...at least for a little while. I don’t really know what else I’d do to it.

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi
Tina (TKCR) to the rescue...again . I bought a jack & all the hardware from Mathew21. She pointed me towards that buy.
See... these projects never end. |

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi
Yeah, it’s for sale, but I’m still tinkering. It didn’t have a jack or related tools, so I found them here on the classifieds. Got it today, so when I got home tonight, I cleaned everything up and put the first coat of paint on them. No pics, but who hasn’t seen a jack & tools.

The build was a lot of fun to follow. Sorry to see it go, but interested to see what replaces it.

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi
I’m actually going to TRY and stay focused on projects I already have. Today I ordered the new torque converter for Martha. And, as soon as it’s back running, I’m going to get Walter running & driving.

Re: 1987 R10...aka Belushi
Belushi went to his new home today. So, it’s now time to focus back on Martha and then Walter. Here’s hoping that my vehicle ADHD stays away for a little while.
