Re: Edelbrock or Quickfuel Carb?
Considering the potential problems like fuel pressure, percolation, linkage hook up that you might need with an eddy carb I ‘d opt for the quickfuel.
Or just a universal 3310 750 vs Holley. |

Re: Edelbrock or Quickfuel Carb?
Q-Jet would be my first choice for a mild motor as well. Second probably the Edelbrock using a Right Stuff metal fuel line, no rubber.
3rd would be the QuickFuel just for your application. I have a QF 750 double pumper on my Corvette 427 and have been happy with it. Just the other choices make more sense for drivers. Buy once, cry once. Get a Jet Stage II with electric choke and buy reproduction steel fuel lines.

Re: Edelbrock or Quickfuel Carb?
Any carb will be just fine if you put in the work and calibrate/set it up correctly.
Edelbrocks are great trouble free carbs once set up right. As Geezer said, they flood with high fuel pressure and percolate fuel without a heat insulating gasket. So you'll need a heat insulating gasket and either a fuel pressure regulator set to 5.5 psi or a fuel pump that puts out 5 or 6 psi. I've never used a quick fuel, but I'm told they're a Holley clone. You can't go wrong with a Holley either.

Re: Edelbrock or Quickfuel Carb?
In my opinion you can't beat a Quadrajet for reliability and the combination of economy and power.
Just curious, what are you doing to get 375hp out of your 350? That might affect your fueling choice.

Re: Edelbrock or Quickfuel Carb?
Talking about carbs is like talking about what type of oil to use...
Anything other than a quadrajet on a street vehicle is just plain dumb. Using those crappy aftermarket universal carbs is why so many people want fuel injection. |

Re: Edelbrock or Quickfuel Carb?
I put an Edelbrock with the manual choke on my mostly stock motor over 10 years ago. It started up right out of the box. It has been trouble-free ever since.
I have changed out the springs in the jets to the next stiffer size due in part to their excellent customer service. I also adjust the idle circuits from time to time by smell and vacuum to keep my mileage and idle quality up. I do not have a reference point to evaluate the Quick Fuel units. I think my buddy has one on his RestoMod 68 Camaro with a high hp 400 sbc. His rig rips period. I did use the 1/4 thick paper gasket under the carb adapter to a stock GM Q jet manifold. Use the ball stud from the Q jet on the trans kick down with the Edelbrock Dodge adapter, cut down, so it fits and you do not need all the 200 bucks worth of trans kick down adapter crap from Edelbrock. Stock mechanical fuel pump runs and starts every time. When I had a conversation with their tech service they wanted me to buy an new AVS carb. I see their advantage but in my application, it is not worth the money. It was the best money spent keeping my daily driver running without all the fuss of a electric choke when other ignition issues arise. Simple is good on the old motors. Other aftermarket things such as brake boosters, alternators, distributor modules have been replace twice or more is this time. That should speak to their simplicity, ease of use, and durability. Good Stuff! One added thought, when I first installed, I did lose some performance. A stock Q jet is rated at 750 cfm. I have the 600 cfm model thinking it would help fuel economy, NOT. Get a larger one, sounds like your engine is going to want more carb. |

Re: Edelbrock or Quickfuel Carb?
QuickFuel 580VS would be my suggestion. I absolutely hate Edelburp carbs.
