1965 Front disc conversion

I'm just about ready to restore and upgrade a 65 C10 step side long bed and want to do the conversion to discs from a 1976 C-10. Can I use the 76 front suspension and them use 69 rotors to keep the 6 lug wheels. Or are there after market 6 lug rotors I could just purchase. Thanks just want to keep the 6 lug wheels and just rebuild the original rear end.

Re: 1965 Front disc conversion

69 did not have rotors. The first year they offered disc on the trucks was 71 I think and it was also when the trucks went 5 lug. Summit is the best place to buy the 6 lug rotors to fit the 73 and up spindles. One thing you need to make sure of is that the donor stuff you have has the 1 1/4" rotors. The entire 76 front will bolt right in and you will need to drill a couple of holes t complete the swap. Captnfab here on the forum make the plate to mount the power steering box. To use the later idler arm you need to drill two new holes.
