Re Paint

Well I didn't like the paint finish, so off it comes. Two finishing
guns went south while the first and last coats were put on.I
hope to re-shoot it next weekend.

Thats to bad it did'nt come out right , it disappointing enough just to get a bad run , never mind losing a whole finish .

Nvbowtie, What was wrong with the finish to cause you to take the yellow paint off?

Was the paint in the picture the only paint on the truck?

What was it primed with?

How much paint got sprayed on?

Was it two stage?

What brand and type of paint?

How long was the paint on the truck?

I have been painting for a loooong time and have used alot of different products over the years. Maybe you don't have to take all the paint off. Alot of times when you strip a vehicle with a DA it puts waves in the primer/surfacer that are impossible to see or feel until the clear is sanded and buffed( Uh... Yes Sir I've done that,,,and it looked like $h*t.)

Most modern catalized paints have window that you can refinish with out problems, some are narrow and some are unlimited.

Let me know or ask the paint supplier for the name and number of the technical of the paint that you used. Most of the time they are very helpfull,
they don't want to lose a customer. Just explain in a calm manner what happened.

It had a few runs, from the first gun leaking, then the second gun was just
being a pain, so the final coat we shot with a primer gun,
(kinda knew then it was coming off). It orange pealled pretty good.

Truth is - I just wanted to give my painter sh!t for taking so long to do this, and picking the first color on his own in the first place.
