55.2-59 Front axle centerline in fender

Spent a little while getting my C4 front and rear suspension mounted over the last month or so. Took a ton of measurements and crossed my fingers and toes that I got the front crossmember in the right place.
So today I borrowed a couple fenders and a rad support and took a look, I'm pretty happy! Hard to get far enough back but I think it looks alright.

I pulled my truck out so I could get a longer shot of it. Yes mr48chev very happy Final wheel alignment hasn't been set yet but it is set how it was in the corvette before dismantling so pretty close. How is your truck coming? Would love to see some pics, that is an awesome truck!

BTW these mock-up wheels have more backspace than the wheels I'll be using so the wheels will be quite a bit closer to the fender lips. I know they look very inset right now. The wheels also might end up 1/4" or so further back when final caster setting is dialed in.

It may just be the angle but it looks about a inch far to the front...I'm looking at the intersection point of the tire and fender...but if your happy that's what counts

Thanks Greg I can see what you are talking about. It’s a very tricky thing to get just right. I’d be very interested in seeing pictures of 55-57 side shots to compare, maybe I need to tweak it?

its a big deal to ensure you have the tire size and ride height of your final choice. a difference in tire diameter makes a difference as well as the ride height. if the ride height changes then the tire will sit deeper or less dep in the wheel opening. since the opening is tapered at the rear part lowering the truck over the wheel will make the wheel look closer to the rear of the wheel opening, and vice versa. same for a different tire diameter. in the end it is what YOU like. my 57 has the axle center line further back but that's where I like it. 235/60r17 tire so 28.1" diameter. Im on a break at work or I would include a pic. maybe tomorrow if I remember, lots going on at home right now so easy to slip my mind.

I've witnessed that when the suspension is fully loaded, inherent caster in the a-arms brings the wheels back significantly. So many guys fail to account for that and end up with the "overbite" look on their front ends. But it sure is better to have the wheels too far forward than too far back!

I agree with you on that, if it's going to be a little off I prefer it to be off to the front vs the rear!
I decided to play around with it some more today, actually I cut it loose, measured, moved, tacked and looked at it a few more times. Also I looked up the ride height specs for the vette in the shop manual once more to make certain that was correct. Part of the problem is deciding on my final design ride height which greatly affects the look. The other gotcha is I haven't mounted my new wheels and tires yet but the rollers are the same overall diameter 225/60-16 vs 235/50-17
