**8 lug to 6 lug conversion advise**
Hi All,
I wanted to know if I can swap a 6 lug front end and a leaf rear end (Dana 44) from a 68 GMC 1500 into an 8 lug front and a leaf rear end into a 72 C20? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Yes. The control arm shafts are the same. The front spindles may just bolt on as well but I cant confirm that.

Kwmech has a good point. Why go from discs to drums?

I have no advice other than to ask your intent in doing such a swap? (so that we can more effectively talk you out of it). It's a bit of a step backwards, but I'm sure there can be some circumstances where it is a desirable move based on situation and parts that are lying around - that's why I'm asking - can't think of many such circumstances.

I’m in agreement with kwmech and jocko. You would be downgrading your truck. If the hope is better wheel choice, 6 lug can’t use late model 6 lug 2x4 rims so you aren’t gaining anything.
No reason to do that IMO but if you are then I would be looking at 71 and newer.
