OT: 55 chevy 2 door
Sorry guys I would have posted this in the 55-59 section but it doesnt get hits enough. Anyway I went and looked at a 55 chevy 2 door. It has new a-arms and coils and a rear out of an 79 trans am w/ 4.56 full spool. All the panels are there and very little if any rust. There is no interior or motor/trans. It is in primer but it looks like it has been on there a while and ther isnt any trim on the side I figured I would just fill those in anyway. The guy is asking $3500 but I asked if he was firm and he asked what I had so I am thinking he would take $2800. Is it a good buy or should I find something else to put my big block in? Thanks sorry again about posting in the wrong section.

I'm actually leaving for the army in 5 months for 3 years so it might set for that long. I would rather have a posi so I could drive it a little on the street. I also love flat black primer, with some von dutch style pin striping whitewalls on red steelies. Man I really want it, I need to talk to the bank about a loan...

My dad has a 55 chevy 2 door hardtop for sale. It is very rough. I would say that 3800 is a good price for that one.

buy it, store it at your parents house under a GOOD car cover (as opposed to a cheapie). Once you get back from the Army, you will have tons of cash to dump into it. Just don't get involved with a female, or you'll lose the cash! hehehe
Honestly, you will probably beat yourself with your cover later for not buying it now........

well the 55 sold but the REALLY good news is I found a 72 Chevelle Malibu 2 door for $1500. It has a little rust on the rear quarters and other than that it is straight as an arrow. It has a new goodmark fender and an SS steering colum because it has a B&M floor shifter. The car is in really good shape I couln't believe he only wanted $1500 I am so excited. There isn't a motor or trans but that is a good thing. I can't wait I will be buying it this weekend hopefully, waiting on a paycheck in the mail.

Check the trunk floor and interior floor very close on the Chevelle they are prone to rust.
