Can I remove hood with hinges?

I need to remove the hood and hood hinges from my 1967 C-10.
It fits perfectly now, so I'm wondering if I can remove the hood with the hinges attached so I only have one area of adjustment to screw up when I put it back?
I will of course mark the hinge position on the inner fender before removal.
Can't see where anyone mentions doing this, but it looks like it should work.
Anybody done this? Thanks, Mike

Re: Can I remove hood with hinges?

By no means a pro, but to me you can do either and as long as you mark the bolt locations you should be good to go. I have never taken the hood off with the hinges, but I will let the pro's chime in. Good luck.

Thumbs up Re: Can I remove hood with hinges?

There is no problems taking them off with the hood. I do it all the time. I just put the 68 back on a week ago.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Can I remove hood with hinges?

I have heard about drilling through the hinges and into fender in two places. Reinstall bolts and use drilled holes to realign ? Sounds like it would help.

Re: Can I remove hood with hinges?

Thank you for your help you guys, had a friend help me lift it off today. no prob.
Oh, and Mr. 54blackhornet, that thing with drilling small holes thru the hinge to aid in relocating does help. Did that a while back on my 1969 MGB GT.
(I noticed that you've got a 1967) (67 is the best year!)
Thanks again, Mike
