Little progress tonight
Tonight I got one side of new body mounts on the beast. Mine were in pretty rough shape, the floorboard bolts are pretty tough to deal with. What has anybody used to clean the spot welds in the recess? I guess I need to pick up a bit to use with my die grinder to clean it up. All in all it has been pretty easy to do. Looking forward to losing the top once I get both sides done.

I just used a cut wheel to carefully clean up that area after I got the bolts out. The die grinder will work fine also.

Thanks. Got a grinder today, but probably won't be able to finish up till Friday. Friday has been deemed "Blazer Day" for the summer.

got er done!
Finally finished up the body mounts today. Really wasn't that difficult. some suggestions would be make sure you have a cut off wheel and a die grinder. I think it would have been nice to have one of those air chisels to get at some of the spot welds. The ones in the middle of the front floorboard were difficult because of the recess for the bolt. BTW, I got the kit from Tim
Christian at the super chevy show in Atlanta. Tim was a great guy to deal with. Out with the old----In with the new.

Glad you got it done. Got mine from Tim also. My body mounts were in very bad shape and I had to straighten the rear most portion of the frame a little but other than that my swap went pretty well too. My K5 isn't roadworthy yet so have got to enjoy the new mounts yet.

It does seem a little more solid and getting rid of the old mounts eliminated some squeeks. I'm running some old tires that are past due for replacing so they probably have some flat spots. Once the painting is done, I'll get some new tires to go on 8 inch rallys. New shocks too!
