I've seen restored anniversary trucks painted different colors, some look like gold bling others are more muted. My tag has "SPECIAL" on it so no paint codes. Any help with modern codes is appreciated!

Thanks for the links! Here are two high-end Mecum trucks with factory colors. Do you think it's the same paint just different lighting?

Well, that's a good question. I thought about it and realized that if it's an issue with lighting then all the colors would be affected. One photo is inside where light is typically more yellow. The other is in direct sun where light tends to be more blue. So I opened your picture up in photo editing software and started reducing the saturation on the indoor truck. This decreases yellow and increases blue. I focused on the hubcaps in both trucks and stopped when they looked pretty close in both photos. Then I zoomed out.

They look pretty close to me...

This picture actually has both effects. In one area we have an orange-yellow spot of light. It's about the right temperature for early morning sunshine but it could be a droplight with an incandescent light bulb or a flashlight with a filament type bulb (red arrow). Not too far away is an area that appears to be receiving direct midday sunshine or light from flourescent or LED lights (blue arrow). Notice the difference in how the gold paint appears in the light.

I just want to add one more thought. In 1988 or 89 my mother bought an '85 GMC Caballero which was gold and brown. The car was damaged and the body shop that repaired it tried like hell to match the paint but failed multiple times (many shops didn't "blend" a repair back then). There were three different paint codes for that car due to factory "variations" in the paint, and the color never looked the same twice. Check out these photos of similar cars all with the same factory code for gold. Pay close attention to the third picture showing how different the inside of the bed appears compared to the rear quarter panel compared to the RH fender. All on the same car...

Maybe it's the metallic that gives it different looks. I found this chart.
