Anyone install DJM flip kit recently?
I'm looking at installing the DJM flip kit on my truck and was curious if anyone has done it in the past 2-3 years. My truck must have the HD rear spring option because I have a total of 8 leaves. If I go with the flip kit, I would take out the bottom 3 leaves and leave the rest. Also, what to do about the shocks? They'll be at a bad angle unless I relocate them and I'm not even sure the stock mounting locations will work with that much drop.
I have a 2-3" drop shackle on it now but it's conflicting with my bed floor and I'd like to get more drop.

Re: Anyone install DJM flip kit recently?
relocating the shocks is included in the thread and I would go back with stock shackles and bushings over the drop ones unless the 8 leafs keep it up correctly. I have no notch and haul loads of mulch and sand no problemo

Re: Anyone install DJM flip kit recently?
I have the HD springs on my ‘69, and they do not look like that. With that said, I removed the overload on mine because it was interfering with the Cal-Trac bars.
On yours, I would remove all the small leaves below the overload, not sure why they are installed? I would keep the overload unless like myself you are running some traction control device. The flip on my truck lowered it 7 1/4” in the rear. I drilled the factory upper shock mount second hole out and move the shock to be more vertical. With a 4.5” drop in front (2.5” spindles, 2” springs) I used stock length shocks all the way around.

Re: Anyone install DJM flip kit recently?
Thanks for the info guys. I was able to get the stock shackles put back on this weekend but didn't get to put on a bedside and do some measuring. I'm torn between the flip kit for a 4.5/7 drop and a drop spring for a 4/2 drop.

I'm looking at 4" drop leaves. I think 7" will be too much.

Re: Anyone install DJM flip kit recently?
I just ordered 4" drop springs from Summit (Western Chassis) and u-bolts. With these, I will end up with 4" or more because the spring pack on my truck is more than most 1/2 tons I've seen on here. If my springs have no sag in them, I can see getting 5" or more just because the lower three springs on my truck are over 1" thick alone. I can't get a good picture of the drop springs, but I bet they're 3 or 4 leaves and I have a total of 8.
