Oil pressure question...

I am still kinda new to working on engines.

What is a good range for your oil pressure to be at idle with a mildly moddified engine?

Thanks,
Nick

10 pounds at a hot idle is plenty.

Yeah, what he said...

I've been told that 10lbs/1000RPM is a good rule of thumb. I've also been told that oil pressure that increases slightly, when you let off of the gas, is an indication that there is some wear in the main bearings. Based on that, my oil pressure is good, but my main bearings have some wear.

Whaddaya expect for 211K miles, with one rebuild on the original (numbers matching) block?

3rd that, 10 psi per each 1000 rpms you plan the rev. We would all like to see more @ idle than 10 psi......but on a stocker, with stock pump....that will keep the lifters working. crazyL
