Undercoating Cab Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Ok I got my cab in epoxy primer and I'm wanting to put some undercoating on it. I've searched the board but most of the threads are outdated and I would like information on the latest products. I've used Raptor on my '89 Toy and Jeep bumpers while easy to spray it seems a bit brittle. So I have a couple ?questions:
- What undercoating product would you recommend and why?

- I want to make sure I get the whole bottom of the cab so should I lay it on the firewall or back of the cab?

Since you've already epoxy coated it I'd get a cheap spray gun and either shoot it with rubberized undercoating like this, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W7MBN7H...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== You'll have plenty left for inner fenders, bottom of the bed etc... Some people like "Lizard Skin"...? Never used it so...Lots of rattle can options on Summit. That Woolwax product isn't a rubberized compound, it's a slick film like paint...But again, it may be overkill if applied over epoxy coatings...A rubberized coating helps deaden sound and would protect that epoxy coat...Check out Summit for options, they have their own name brand for cheap, a fella could score a case and wouldn't have to bother with a spray gun...I like to shoot the insides of the rockers and cab corners too...

I used the Raptor Liner...don't know how brittle it is, but plan on 2nd coat with rubberized. For sound proofing.

I've been using Eastwood's undercoat
It dries fairly smooth and stays plyable with a mat finish

What end result are you looking for with the undercoating? Noise reduction, heat blocking, corrosion prevention? I have not found a solo product that excels at all of these.

For the bottom of the cab I am looking for a textured rustproofing preferably rubber based. I want make sure when the cab flexes it does not crack.

For sound proofing I am planning on using foil backed Dynamat, Fatman, or the like.

I've had very good luck with the spray can rubberized under coating. I would lay the cab on it's back and then spray.
Also using the spray can under coating after painting the cab it's easily touched up.
Having said above my projects will never see any salt again.

We used the 3M or SEM rubberized coatings with a Schultz gun at the body shop. Cheaper than rattlecans. And its easier on the finger.
