Question 292 Head

Looking for a good head for my 70 292 reasonable.Where are the casting numbers on these heads? I have looked all over,only place left is under the valve cover?

1970 K-10 292 Longbed stepside (now a stakerack)powersteering ,Factory step bumper,Tow Hooks,Deluxe gauges Tach & Throttle, 4 speed manual 1 out of 464 made with protectoplate intact .

Thats where they are.. under the valve cover. Cast into the head.

I've got one, but I'm on the other coast. You should be able to use any head from a 194, 230, 250. The only problem might be a smaller combustion chamber and higher compression.

They are available still at GM but for $585.00 ! I will try to hold out for a cheaper one !

I have 1 that just came off a running 292 150.00 or 1 fresh from the machine shop magnifluxed,pressure tested,new valve job, hot tanked and painted black 450.00.
