50th Aniversary Roll Call
I am just curious how many 1968 50th Aniversary Truck Owners there are on the board. Wether it be a pickup, burb, van, panel, el camino, etc..... Check you glove box door and check your paint codes and see if you have a 551 paint code. Who knows maybe your truck had been painted over the past 34 years If your truck is a pickup it will have the gold/parchment interior. If it is a panel or burb it will have a fawn interior. I am not sure about the el camino's or van's, etc... Some time I will have to thumb through the 1968 data book and figure that out.
I have a: 68 50th Aniversary C-10 Burb 68 50th Aniversary C-10 Pickup I know fine has a: 68 50th Aniversary CST C-20 Pickup

Cool, if you are changing the color scheme and it has the original gold and parchmant interior, I would be interested in purchasing the interior.

You can have the gold dash, steering wheel, column parts, white door panels and armrests if you have black ones to trade. The seats shot to hell though and isnt even salvageable.

cant believe youre gonna do that to a rustfree one.. what 4 pseed you got in it exactly, do you mean that you have the 435CR tranny ? if so do you know how rare it is ? i know of only one truck on this entire forum that has the 435CR in it,
3.73 was not available in dana60 axles in 67-72, it will be 3.54 if is the 435CR tranny, otherwise 4.10 or 4.56 good luck |

Yes it is rustfree and yes it is the CR transmission. Took me a while to find out why there was no granny gear as I had never heard of a CR 435. I assumed they came with all big blocks as this one was originally. I had sold off the big block before I found out it was a 50th so the collector value if there is any is nil to the truck. As I have said before If anyone wants to step up and buy this thing out from under me minus the motor and wheels I just bought or wants to trade for a comparable rust free 67 or 68 C20 or 2WD blazer I'm all for it if they do it before I paint the truck. To tell the truth if there was any actual collector value with the vehicle I would have people lining up in droves to trade for it but I dont see that. Otherwise I'm changing the paint scheme and shaving the chrome etc. because its god awful ugly and I'm not sure that outside a handful of purists anyone really cares about keeping it all original. If it were an all original 69 pace car camaro I'd feel different but it isnt. Its just a different paint scheme on an old truck and interior which happens to be two of my least favorite colors. I just bought it because it was REALLY CHEAP at , fairly straight, rust free and I needed a platform for the motor that I had built. You may be right on the gearing as I havent had the cover off although the owners manual states 3.73 . I also have the protectoplate and other items original to the truck.
PS if anyone wants to trade a complete automatic TH400 conversion for this 435 CR tranny they are welcome to it as well. I Dont think they are that rare anyway. I know where one more in a boneyard is out of a 67 . I know new shift boots are impossible to find for them
