6 Door GMT400 88-99

Hey all, been a while since I’ve posted anything on here. I sold the KIDHLR truck I build and I’m looking to build a 6 Door version of a gmt400. Right now it looks like it will probably be a 99 k2500 with a 6.5 turbo diesel. I’ve found some pictures of 6door suburbans of this bodystyle and a few long beds but I’m not finding any pictures of 6 Door short beds out there. Anybody on here seen this conversion before?

I guess I logged into the wrong profile. I’m planning on doing the stretch with the red crew cab pictured. Also have a 93 crew cab that we’re cutting up.

Re: 6 Door GMT400 88-99

Right now it’s just sitting together. The drive shaft is in, so I could move it around the yard. However, there is more fit and finish that needs to be done before I feel I can take it down the road :-) probably won’t have much time to do more until the first of the year, but I wanted to push hard while the weather cooperated to get a nice visual representation of what I was going after. I’m a little excited right now, as it’s turning out just as I had envisioned!

...looks bloody great to me. I thought by the way you were talking that you might get the chassis finished by the end of the holidays. Man, you'll be buffing paint real soon.

Tagging in to see if anything has been done since the last post or if the weather has put it on hold.

Either way, want to not miss the round of what is very interesting project.

Truck currently needs the transmission put back in. We rebuilt it a couple weeks ago and just need to put it in now. I’ve driven it around with a leaky injection pump and it still gets around 15 mpg with the 12 valve Cummins.....here’s a picture

Re: 6 Door GMT400 88-99

So, are you getting any work done on the 6 door? what's the weather like in your area? We have been having 80-90 degree days followed by storms and torrential rain, just can't plan too far in front.
