77 Blazer seats will bolt to the 69-72 seat brackets and they will look good in the 69-72's. The tops of the back part are not as rounded as the 69-72
so there is a minor difference. The 77 Blazer brackets are too high so they are not a direct bolt in. The 77 Blazer has a flat floor where the brackets bolt up in front, whereas the 69-72 have a raised area. Jim |

Stock brackets from the 77 will work with modification. You will need to cut them down and re-weld them to the right height. I did it with the buckets out of my 80 Jimmy when I put them in my 72 Jimmy 2X2. Most of the holes line up on the driver's side, but on the passenger side it becomes a whole nother game. 77 bracket won't work without serious reworking. I used a second drivers seat bracket and have the seat mounted so it will not fold forward. Don't have a back seat, so didn't need access through the front. Easisest way to do the swap is with original brackets out of the truck, but they are hard to find.

The 73 and up buckets look almost identical to the 69-72 buckets---however if you ever want to recover the seat covers----you need to check real careful as soom we recently pulled were not the same size----with a ruller, if you were to check the seat height (foam) from the top where you tush goes to the bottom where the seatcover wraps around, it was at least 1" smaller on the later model seats. This may be unique to truck buckets but -----I would check the measurement before I would buy replacement seat covers.
The mounting brackets are very different but can be modified ow swapped around pretty easy. |
