How well do the 4wd blazers ride
Since I sold my 69 chevy. I have been looking for something else to buy.I was interested in a blazer, and wanted to know how they were for a daily driver.Also interested in a 3/4 ton chevy will they bounce you around like a milkshake? Mmmm Milkshake. Thanks for your input. Mike

I can't speak for all 3/4 tons, but mine rides like a go-cart. I know why though, the PO had replaced the 3/4 ton springs with 1 ton springs front and rear plus added 2 rear add-a-leaves...

Mine is Blazer is pretty bouncy. Although I have 38's and 3/4 ton suspention. My old Blazer on 33's on stock springs rode very well.

Blazer Ride
Mines only a 4" lift w/33's, EZ ride spring's at that.
Wouldn't be my first choice for a daily but stock isn't that bad. Just remember these are trucks...when trucks were trucks |

Depends on the springs and a bunch of other factors. They ride firm for sure. I would say ride is close to that of my 88 3/4 ton burb.
My lifted K5 rode better then my stock K5 but it to a lot of tweeking. The big fix on ride and bump steer I found was the www.offroaddesign.com sway correction/disconnect kits. On a lifted truck if you retain the sway bar it is not operating at the angles it wasn't desgned to. This fixes that. The EZ rides have the softest spring rate on the market and they do pretty good. On the rear the trick on the 73-81 trucks is use mid 80's rear springs. The mid 80's had pads and a softer spring rate then the 70's buck board springs. Also choose a good shock. Rancho 5000's are STIFF! I am running Gabrials or Monroes now (what ever Autozone sells). removing those 5000's I had was the best thing I did. What I did is I managed to flex the truck out and measure the shock distances. I cross matched the shocks making sure I had 1 more inch of up travel then I measured.

Mine is stock height, and the P.O installed new shocks at some point. I think it rides pretty good, but I am thinking about putting in an air bag set-up in the rear to help the ride a little.

My wife dubbed my '69 Bouncytruck for a reason! It has a 6" lift and 35's. My '72 rides much better but it can still be a bumpy ride.

has anyone ever noticed a big difference by replacing the bushings in the leaf springs?

It is hard to find stock height Blazers. It seems like the majority have been lifted. Definately look for one with a good body. You can always go back to the stock springs.

Yes,I noticed that bouncytruck most are lifted.Well the 69 chevy truck I had even had some rust and it was a desert truck go figure.Time to spend some money I guess.

Board member ljbear has a nice looking blazer for sale right now on the part's board ... My blazer ride's pretty nice and it's stock height with 32x11.50 tire's on it..
