Bet you don't see this often
Not only appears to be original, it has something else.

Re: Bet you don't see this often
Luckily I’ve never had a problem removing the slotted screw. It’s pretty short and doesn’t have a lot of threads.

Re: Bet you don't see this often
Yep,
If it's tight, use an impact screwdriver. Works great!

Re: Bet you don't see this often
I have worked on many of those. that slotted screw is one reason I own an Impact Driver (screwdriver you hit with a hammer and the tip turns when it is hit).

Re: Bet you don't see this often
I’ve NEVER seen a 67-72 8 lug with a slide on rear drum. My ‘50 3600 w/ HO52 is that style. Is this on your ‘70?

Re: Bet you don't see this often
I've seen them on Dana 60's but not Eaton rear axles.

Re: Bet you don't see this often
Wow, I think of all the brake jobs I did on these trucks back in the day I never ran across a single one with a slide on eight lug rear brake drum. Must be a Dana 60 Thing. Luck of the draw I never worked on that particular application. Steve weim55 Colorado |

Re: Bet you don't see this often
I have two Dana 60's, but only the '67 has the slotted screws. The '69 does not, but it is a Roadrunner with a 5-lug, semi-floating, Dana 60. He,he.
