Removing 71 factory cruise question

Im removing the factory cruise (probably dealer installed) from my 71 Ex Motor Home C30 and to me it looks totally untampered with. But Im looking at some pictures Roger Koop posted of a restored/NOS set and it has this little box thingy or bracket. Im not finding it anywhere on my set up. No mounting holes ... nothing. Does anyone know where this box goes, and what is it for? Im also PMing Roger to check out this thread. Thanks.

Re: Removing 71 factory cruise question

Can you post more pics? I'm assuming you're asking about the right side bracket in pic #2? Is it foldable, soild, etc? See pic below, appears to be a similar thing right behind the servo, but not really sure. Note the two spaced tabs, etc.

Re: Removing 71 factory cruise question

Ok that picture helps me immensely. Mine looks exactly like that minus the little plastic cover. Wonder why mine is missing? Everything else seems to be intact. I guess 50 years can do that to a truck haha!

Thanks jocko!!!

Re: Removing 71 factory cruise question

CG when possible can you post pics of your installed setup? I’d like to compare w mine and others. Curious what straps were used along the firewall to route one on the vacuum lines.

I’ve already taken some of it apart but I think this will show what you want.

Re: Removing 71 factory cruise question

Big help thank you. Looks like the same clamps used as those for the axle vent hoses at the frame. That’s what I used on the Blazer.

Re: Removing 71 factory cruise question

Glad it helped. I think its a cool option, just seems weird to leave it on my C30 future flatbed hauler.

Im going to try and find the missing plastic cover and may possibly clean it all up. I got a million other things going on now though, so its just going to get stuffed in a box.

Re: Removing 71 factory cruise question

The plastic cover is a hens tooth. Roger Koop mentioned something about having them reproduced in a conversation we had but not sure that ever came about.

Get the measurements from someone and have one 3-D printed. It doesn't look too complicated.

Looks great. I haven't finished taking mine off yet.

I'm not really doing anything with my trucks right now worth noting. I'm off on another tangent not truck related. If my tangent works out Ill probably just sell this along with a bunch of other parts.
