Can anyone Decode a Vin for Build sheet Please.
Found a donor vehicle that I plan to drive home on Sunday to rip apart and use all i can for my 67 build that is starting.
Can someone get a build sheet for this Vin#1GBHC24U62E131513 I know it has the 6.0 ls lq4 and should have the 4l80e just trying to confirm before i drive 11 hours to bring it home. He also says it has the Dana 60 in the rear. Can anyone tell me anything about transfering that big Dana to my C10 can it be done or will it cost me nearly as much as finding a good 12bolt to setup. current plans i have a 67 swb rolling chassis from northern texas that is in great shape and unmolested. 6.0 rebuild pushing 500hp N/A.. Will boost later. 4l80e obviously with possibility of t56 magnum down the road. still planning out my suspension but leaning towards static 4/6 drop maybe 5/7 if i go with bags. Havent decided on what brake kits yet but will be at least 13in front rotors and 12in rear rotors to bring those ponies back in check. |

guy said it was a full floater Dana he thought. Not sure what was offered in 2002 may call a chevy dealer and get a copy of actual build sheet. Selling truck for the simple fact torsion bar mounts are rusting out. plan to check fluids and just drive it home. Got the entire truck for less than most want for a pulled LQ4 so i am happy.

Its most likely a 14 bolt diff
Motor and tranny a good price buy it deal with the diff separately You could sell the diff to purchase one you want It does list it as a 4.10 posi rear not open diff or a gov bomb |

Re: Can anyone Decode a Vin for Build sheet Please.
A little web searching and you can find out what diff it is.
A full floating diff has something like 10 bolts on a big hub so it's easy to spot. There's not too much point in using a late model 8 lug diff in a half ton, unless you're converting the front to 8 lug of course. Chances are the WMS is wider and all the spring perches and shock mounts need removed and replaced. |

14 Bolt rears have (you guessed it) 14 bolts on diff cover. 8 bolts on the axle flange to hub. The pinion has a carrier and is held in with bolts from the front of the differential, so fairly easy to identify by that alone
