Can u use a sbc fuel pump in a straight 6?
Aside from fuel line routing, is there any reason a small block chevy fuel pump could not be used in a straight 6 cyl engine?
Thanks Scott

Re: Can u use a sbc fuel pump in a straight 6?
I don't think so. L6 mech fuel pumps work in an inverted orientation to V8 pumps, and the connections are not in the right places.
L6s tend to run at lower RPMs than V8s, too. The SBC fuel pump connects to the cam via a short push rod [that can be a PIA on a hot day]. The actuator bar on the L6 fuel pump connects directly to a cam lobe.

Like he ^ said. But if you don't believe him, just look up the part numbers on line and see if they are the same. I bet not.
