Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat
Just a follow up on the CP mat. I ordered in June of this year, install was easy and fits pretty good. Factory type foam insulation was installed below the mat and the holes all held the mat in place as intended. Move forward to November and as I put my burb away for the season I noticed the mat was cracking at every bend. Where the mat that lays flat is holding up with no cracks but everywhere else crack central. Its unfortunate that I didnt even get a year out of it before it started breaking down. Luckily for me my ride is a patina survivor so ratty fits the bill, Id be pissed if I put this in my restored truck as the cracks would stand out quite a bit.
Anyone else have this issue? |

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat
I installed my mat this week...fit pretty well. I like it a lot. Obviously I don't have any long term experience with it though.

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat
I stand corrected
![]() the mat I posted around the same time from truck shop seems to be holding up but it doesn't even have a hundred miles on it so I wouldn't gauge my experience to anything ![]() that looks great roll the dice!

Re: Reproduction Rubber Floor Mat
CP is referring to the manufacturers of the mat that all the vendors are selling. The name of the manufacturer is Counter Part

Quote:
I have a layer of Fat Mat and a layer of foil backed bubble wrap beneath the mat and a 1/8" thick closed cell foam sheet on the firewall down to about 2" below the edge of the mat. I plan to use carpet tape to fasten the foam sheet and mat along the edges and in the contour recesses. Last edited by dream66; 12-26-2020 at 05:27 PM. |
