Blubber and a bunch of our trucks...
It's the 50th anniversary of the "whale explosion"... For those that don't know about it, search YouTube - I don't know how to post the link to it.. quite a few of our trucks where there that day...

Ain't no way I'd've been within 50 miles of that beach, if I had heard that a whale was going to be blown up. I've done some crazy stuff in my life, but that's one I would pass on.

back in the good old days of moms throwing their arm to stop kids from smashing into car dashes, riding bikes without helmets and blowing up random dead whales on the beach!

Re: Blubber and a bunch of our trucks...
It'd been a long time since I'd seen this exploding whale video but recently it came up in conversation with a couple of my neighbors. Both of them remembered the video.... it IS memorable. I was telling them about an enormous dead bloated manatee recently at the nearby County boat ramp. This thing was swelled up as big as a Toyota and looked like it was ready to burst . There was a young lady there from Fish & Wildlife in a State of Fl. truck with a lifting boom on the back. I didn't hang around long that day and a week or so later it was gone. I think maybe they towed it away with a boat and let the crabs, gators & birds dispose of it. I never heard what killed it, boats hit a lot of 'em.
