Factory windshields for 1967-1972 Chevy C10s were tinted green?
Did the factory 1967-1972 Chevy C10 windshields have a green tint to them? I am getting my front windshield replaced (chrome/stainless trim) next week.
They told me the windshield is clear with no tinted visor banner at the top but that it does have a slight green tint like the factory? |

Yes, a tinted windshield was available. Can you post a picture of what the company is planning to sell to you?

Yeah they are saying it does have a very light green overall tint, but it doesnt have a dark band across the top.

The original tinted glass was called Soft-Ray and the glass was marked with that logo. LockDoc

That would be correct for your truck if the other glass has a light green tint. The type of windshield you are describing is actually fairly hard to find.

You probably won't find any '67 or '68's with Soft-Ray glass. My understanding is that only the ones with A/C had it and there were very few '67 or '68 A/C trucks. A buyer may have been able to order it as a stand alone option without A/C but I don't know that for sure. LockDoc

If in fact you do look at it Monday take some good pictures of it and see if you can get the logo area which should be in the bottom in the middle of it. Post some pictures please. Most trucks in the 67/72 years where AC trucks if they had the green tint. My first truck was a 67 small window with AC it had the green tint all around. What is EZ eye glass? E-Z-Eye was the logo used on the LOF tinted glass during the fifties. What is the difference between regular, factory installed, date coded glass without the EZ eye distinction? Regular standard production glass was NOT tinted at all; ie. it was clear, but it still had the LOF marking with a date code Is regular LOF coded glass clear, or does it have a green tint? Regular or standard glass was NOT tinted at all. What is the best replacement for regular LOF glass? For replacing the flat side glass, you can go to a local glass shop and they can cut new glass for you (using your original glass as a pattern), OR you can purchase sets of flat glass - regular or tinted - from places like AutoCity Classics. I feel that the old glass, even if it isn't EZ eye looks different than regular, modern glass. If the old glass looks different it's probably because it has colored over the years, but the original glass also had a vinyl innerlayer as the safety mechanism. I don't think today's 'safety glass' uses the vinyl innerlayer, but instead is a tempered glass, and I have noticed that modern glass can appear 'spotted', probably due to this tempering process. 67 Chevy only trucks. Available Colors: Green Tinted and Shaded windshield with Original Green Tint sides and Grey Tinted and Shaded windshield with Custom Grey sides. https://www.autocityclassic.com/1968...ass-6872pkglg/ https://www.autocityclassic.com/1967...-glass-67pkg2/
