DFW area body shop. son wanted to be like dad
Guys,
Its been a while since i posted, but ive been happily enjoying my 71 as have my kids. Well, we just moved and the day after i moved, i had to travel for business. Unfortunately, not all my tools were put away and my young son got ahold of my jack. he decided to try to lift up my truck (hes seen me do it, how hard can it be?) well, unfortunately, the bedside sheet metal wasnt as strong as the frame and instead of lifting my truck, he just dented the side. So, Im looking for a decent body shop in the DFW, TX area that can possibly just pull the dent out. Its the original paint, and it still shines up nicely, so im hoping that the dent can be pulled without any grinding or repainting. Its not a showcar finish, but its pretty dang good for 50 years. Any recommendations on a shop in DFW? And any idea as to how difficult pulling the dent will be? it doesnt have to be 100% thanks all. ps: he was crying when he told me, but i couldnt get mad, this is just payback for all my ideas when i was his age |

It’s just a car after all, but I would carefully explain to him how dangerous lifting a truck is if you don’t know what your doing.

Well it doesn't look too bad.
Jose Murillo Jose's Auto Body & Refinishing 3735 E.University Dr St 175 McKinney TX 75069 469-288-0327 Jose and his shop did some work on my truck. The work on my truck involved welding in sheet metal patch panels so I don't know if they can do paintless dent repair. But I did like them very much for what they did for my truck. So I recommend call and make an appointment and take your truck over there and see what they say. Check out what landarts did to his truck. In case you end up with some patch panel repair or use filler or otherwise damage your paint, he demonstrates how to do the color match and get it right. This thread is amazing and I've bookmarked it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=795414 |

Have you searched online for a paintless dent repair business?

Hey Dad, remember the year that I gave you a dent for Christmas?
Every dent on an old truck has a story.

I applaud your patience with your son. My father would have screamed for hours...

Glad to hear that you kept your cool about it. The fact that he told you about it before you found it shows that you are bringing up right. IE: Admit to your mistakes and face the consequences.
For me, in my younger days it would have been yelling and screaming. In my older days its, "Well that sucks. You understand you are going to have to help fix it."

Definitely make sure he understands the safety aspect of it. He could be crippled or dead if the jack pops out from under the frame.
