Re: Testing a horn replay????
1) Get your wife to come out and hold onto the wingnut
2) Press horn button in cab Are you in serious trouble? Then the relay works. If that doesn't prove conclusive, here's a diagram. Sadly I don't know which terminals are which on the actual relay or I'd give you some steps to try.... I believe the horn circuit wire is usually green, which triggers the relay to pass current through the main lug.

If the relay is working you should be able to hear it click when you press on the horn button. It is under the dash just to the Left of the steering column. If the relay is out of the truck hook +12v to the terminal that red wire is connected to and black wire to ground and you should hear it click. Green wire goes to horn/s. LockDoc

Re: Testing a horn replay????
Do the wires pull straight out of the horn relay or is there a clip that needs to be depressed before sliding it out?

Re: Testing a horn replay????
They should just pull off. Take the horn cap off the steering wheel. Take a screw driver and touch the shaft to the horn ring. It should spark. If it doesn't you have a 12 volts missing are a ground issue. Take a test light and leave the horn relay hooked up. The red wire should have 12 volts all the time. Black wire is ground back to steering column. Green wire goes to horns. Take your probe on test light and put it on the green wire. Push the horn button if it lights up then the relay is good and the problem is out by the horn. If it doesn't check the red wire to see if it has 12 volts are power. It should have power without touching the horn button. If no voltage trace the red wire out and see why it doesn't have 12 volts. If this checks out OK then check for the spark on the steering shaft. If no spark when you touch it then the ground wire in the turn signal connection may be missing are not making contact in the plug. The contact in the column should spark when it has ground to the shaft.
