New Rocker Panel

I have the whole week off. First day off since Memorial Day. I don't remember when I had 5 in a row.
I was supposed to get my block back from the machine shop in time to get it together and installed this week. Last week the machine shop guy called and said he was behind.
So I'm standing there Monday with nothing to do and a lot of time to do it in. Over in the corner of the shop I have a pile of sheet metal I bought from GMC Paul's earlier this year. The next thing you know I'm cutting off my old rocker panel and rf cab support and installing the new. Of course I ran out of paint that matches the vehicle.

Since I still have the engine out I left the right fender and inner wheel well off. I think the extra access will be nice when I get the engine back.

Looks great! Mine is starting to go and will need replacing eventually, but lacking proper equipment (or a shop!), it will be farmed out..

Thanks.
After doing the one side I would seriously consider offers to do the other. The welding in of the new pieces was EASY. The hard part is cutting out all the old stuff.

In the infamous words of Maggie from Caddyshack,
"Dats all I need!"

Actually if I had more time and less brains it would be really cool to take a sub, whack it off at the back of the 3rd door, weld on the back of a pickup cab, then place the whole mess on a longhorn frame. Then make a box to fill up to what would have been the end of the longhorn. Sort of a "crewhorn".

Good thing I got some brains and no time.
