Horn Help

I am using a new AAW harness and dual Hella horns with a Billet Specialties wheel on a stock tilt column.

I've tested the horns right from the battery. They work. I put the green plastic piece with the copper on the column first, the spring, and then the wheel. Connected the yellow wire to the horn cap and the ground. No horn. Do I need more pieces other than the green plastic piece between the column and the wheel?

I did notice the relay was very warm so I pulled it out until I can figure out what I am doing wrong.

I have all the factory original pieces, but from reading the Billet Specialties instructions I only need to use the green plastic piece that has the copper ring on it. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Horn Help

I had a similar problem where my multiple horns were pulling too many amps and I had to upsize the relay. FYI - My system was all stock except the 4 Cadi horns...then the new style 30 (?) amp relay addition. Just something to consider as well, I'm not sure what the Hella Horns are pulling.

Re: Horn Help

By pass the relay to test it. If by adding power to the wire that goes to the horns ( hot wire to horn wire) makes them work then reconnect the wiring harness and apply a ground, if the horns don't work you need a new relay. If they do work then the problem is in the wiring between the relay and your horn button.
